Clevedon at the 2026 World Pilot Gig Championships
Clevedon recently returned from the World Pilot Gig Championships, held annually on the May Day bank holiday weekend on the beautiful Isles of Scilly.
Capacity restrictions meant we only took with us a single boat (Blackbird) again this year. We are very grateful to have loaned Shelly Maid (Exmouth) and Dolphin (St Martins) boats while we were out there, letting more of our crews row in the open races.
Clevedon have come away very thankful to Clifton as well who supported our club in having our B Squad train and row with them. A big show to how friendly and welcoming the Gig Rowing Community is!
Results for Clevedon:

Ladies Super Vets (aged 50+) finished 31st with their fantastic cox prodigy George Shotliff who trained with them in the lead up to the big weekend and was doing quick changes from coxing to rowing Friday through Sunday!
