Clevedon recently returned from the World Pilot Gig Championships, held annually on the May Day bank holiday weekend on the beautiful Isles of Scilly.
Capacity restrictions meant we only took a single boat (Blackbird) this year, although we were able to borrow Porlock Weir's Circe to enter both men's vets (over 40s) and supervets (over 50s).
The sun came out all weekend and the water was quite benign, unusual for this event. Highlights were a solid 47th out of 128 for the Men's open crew, and 18th out of 42 for men's supervets, along with some great battles against our local Somerset rivals
