Sunday saw the regatta season kick off with the 3 Rivers event hosted by Caradon Pilot Gig Club at Saltash - a 6 mile race that starts and finishes under the Tamar Bridge.

Clevedon returned with 4 crews again this year representing for the most part the men's and ladies' A and B crews selected for the Scillies. Thanks go out to Rob Gait and John George who towed the spotless Blackbird and Watch & Pray down to Cornwall for their first races of the season.

A totally different day to the previous years wind, rain and sub zero temperatures - this year the sun was out and the water almost as flat as the docks.

Ladies took to the water first - 4 waves of boats with 53 competing in total. Our ladies found themselves in the same heat and in good old fashioned Clevedon style, ended up in a duel for the majority of the hour long race which saw ladies' B hold off the challenge and come in just 5 seconds ahead of the A crew giving them respective positions of 32nd and 35th.

Men followed with the A crew posting a time of 51mins 22 secs with the B crew following 57 seconds later.

Official results are taking a little while to get out in the public domain - latest on Gigrower shows a link posted to FaceBook but hopefully there will be a post before long with a full set of results available.

If you were wondering who won both the mens and ladies races this year, their club name begins with a 'F'...
